I wanted to avoid having different virpil profiles for different planes which by the way might require to exit DCS world to change from one plane to the other and other issues, so what I did was to do a single virpil-profile for DCS and any other possible flight games I have (star war squadrons, strike fighters, ace combat, il2, etc, etc). I have special macros like to setup my plane for ACM mode (Master Arm On, Radar to Boresight or Vertical Scan, Select Guns or Infrared missile, and so on) and plugins for virtual detent.

THRUSTMASTER HOTAS CONTROL PANEL HOW TO
I bought them last year, and learned how to use their software to change a few things like shift mode and others but I feel like I got the most out of my gear with Joystick Gremlin. Here is mine, but for the Virpil TM-50 CM2 and VKB-Gunfighter. My backup profile for setting up my VKB Gladiator NXT using the VKB software to support my DCS controller profiles. My backup profile for setting up my CM3 Throttle using the Virpil software to support my DCS controller profiles. Printable layouts of what my current DCS profilesīlank templates of the Virpil CM3 Throttle, VKB Gladiator NXT Stick and the Honeycomb Yoke for you MSFS2020 users.

This is a full copy of my DCS saved games "Input" folder (some of these are work in progress - see "Printable Layouts" folder) I'm learning too so hopefully others will share, would love to see what you all are doing! Please use the LUA's and NXT & VKB Hardware profiles at your own risk! If your new to the Virpil or NXT Software, you could be quickly starting over if you don't have backups.įolder: DCS Profiles (copy if saved games input folder) Will keep these updated as I make progress in my layouts. I also try to keep as many controls as possible the same across multiple modules for easy learning. These are not perfect by any-means, but hopefully helps a few get started.

You can skip all that and simply just download my "Printable Layouts" and then perform your own keybindings in DCS as you see fit. If you do use the LUA files, you will also need to use my HOTAS profiles which will involve you using the Virpil and VKB software to upload to your HOTAS setup, if you skip this step my LUA profile key bindings wont work. I also uploaded a full copy of my saved games "Input" folder containing all my LUA's for anyone that wants to try them out (will have to load manually into DCS).

And then calibrate from the windows Joystick panel.Below is a shared google drive with templates supporting the Virpil CM3 Throttle, VKB Gladiator NXTStick and heck even the MSFS2020 yoke for you guys as well. So if anyone is having issues with their Thrustamster sticks, try removing the Thrustmaster software, it seems pretty useless anyway.

I uninstalled the Thrustmaster software, restarted PC and fired up the windows joystick panel and found the calibration option had been restored.ĭid the calibration as instructed and then for some reason had to repeat it, but since then the spiking X-Axis problem has disappeared. It also removes any calibration option from the standard Windows joystick panel. Turns out the thrustmaster software has no calibration option, just a test option which shows you the various axes are moving. With further investigation I could see it was the X-Axis (aileron) spiking constantly about 25% of the full range to the right.Īt first I though it was just a faulty joystick pot and was considering sending it back but then I thought, hang on a second, I didn’t see any calibration option, surely it needs calibrating. What I did noticed however was that my planes where constantly turning to the Right. When FS 2020 was finally started for the first time it instantly recognised the Hotas X and I had no problems setting up the buttons to my liking. I installed the thrustmaster software that came with it and fired it up and all seemed ok. I was going to get a Yoke and pedal setup but couldn’t find any on sale for love nor money I bought an Hotas X about 2 weeks before MSFS 2020 was released.
