On the pro side, the main compartment can swallow anything I need to bring and maybe a bit more and I think it looks okay in both casual and more "formal" environments.R/Onebag is a minimalist travel community devoted to the idea of lugging around less crap. I'm not expecting the Bellroy to fit an umbrella in that fornt pocket like Daysling but it's so tight with just a pen, lighter and a coin pouch that every time I grab my keys I always feel like something's going to fall out. In the end, while I liked it the size of the front pocket bothers me. The fact that it could hold a bigger water bottle is a bonus. I bought the Bellroy Lite Sling thinking that it could be my more "formal" sling. The only cons for me are the placement of the key leash and the overall look, which I like but would probably look out of place in less casual environments. On longer trips I can even squeeze in a small water bottle. I have my wallet, IDs, keys, sanitizer, a pen, notebook, extra masks, and other small EDC items.

The daysling is my daily driver for most of 2021. Late to the party but I have both the Daysling 2 in X-pac and the Bellroy Lite sling.

It can still carry the essentials though. But again, with the city sling, I have very few water bottles that’ll fit in that, aside from plastic bottles, just knowing the size. Like really big in terms of surface area on your chest. I can fit my 32oz water bottle and carry that around all day. And, this is a small gripe, but I don’t like the fact that the Day Sling has the old fashioned closure on the strap… Something about the snappiness of the magnet on the City Sling / Lite Sling, are nice. Despite the smaller space than the Day Sling, another user on this subreddit pointed out that the zipper placement on the Day Sling is tough to work with and may actually make it have less usable size than the City Sling. It just seems like it’s built more durably. As time went on and I researched more and thought about practicality and feasibility for future travels as well as my day to day, I’m leaning toward the City Sling 2. Thus, I was leaning toward something larger. My thoughts: I initially wanted this for a trip down to Mexico, and that was my first impetus. Friend got the lite sling and the inky blue black is super sweet in person. The DS2 always sits close and now that the xpac has broken in, it conforms to my torso much better for a sleeker look.

Also, Something abt the CS2 looks like it would ride awkward as a front crossbody, where if packed out, the top half will lean away from the body which my CS1 has the unfortunate tendency to do. My city sling 1 is a great pocket reliever, and i love how small and flat a carry it is for warmer days where other slings seem too bulky.įor a hot minute i did think abt the CS2, cause it seems like a good mix of the aforementioned.īut i just like the vibe of the DS2 more. I actually like it on the “wrong” shoulder as it angles up for quicker access. And despite being asymmetric, rides fine on both shoulders. also has room for random other things that dont quite make it into my city sling 1.
